Gamayun is a prophetic bird of Russian folklore. It is a symbol of wisdom and knowledge and lives on an island in the east, close toparadise. Like the Sirin and the Alkonost, the Gamayun is normally depicted as a large bird with a woman’s head.

The Curse of Glaurung by *ullakko

A gold finger ring that belonged to Æthelswith (855-889), the queen of Mercia and sister of Alfred the Great. She was also the daughter of Æthelwulf, who owned the ring I posted earlier. The ring was found in 1991 when a farmer was plowing in Northeastern England.
